It's just so sad, 23 years... RIP Goolaerts.
I really just hope at this point that at least this was just an unavoidable tragedy due to natural causes, if any kind of substance is involved would be even more sad :(

Viktor86 [Le Tour de Brabant] Monday 9.Apr 01:29, 2018
No words for it. :(

"It is with unimaginable sadness that we have to communicate the passing of our rider and friend Michael Goolaerts. He passed away Sunday evening at 22:40 in Lille hospital in the presence of his family members and loved ones, who we keep in our thoughts. He died of cardiac arrest, all medical assistance was to no avail.

For now there will be no further communication as we want to give his close ones time to deal with this terrible loss. We thank you in advance for respecting the privacy of his relatives.

R.I.P. Michael! You will always be one of us!"

22 years ..

Best race and result from Taylor Phinney for a long, long time. Hope it augurs well for the future.

Koronin [Koronin] Sunday 8.Apr 22:57, 2018
Soler said it was a good learning experience and he wants to race Paris-Roubaix again.

Viktor86 [Le Tour de Brabant] Sunday 8.Apr 17:30, 2018
I'm afraid I scaled Sagan too low for a good result.

Nice to see Soler getting experience on cobbles from the front

Good luck!!!!!!!! :)

P.S. I was close to chose another french but Laporte, instead of Petit... :)

Partykjeppen [Il Piccolo Partykjepps] Sunday 8.Apr 11:07, 2018
FDJ have been riding at the front until about 50 ks left in most of the cobbled races this year, this is the one where it’ll make the difference. Wolfman Duchesne been the cobble-domestique-signing of the year for me.

Partykjeppen [Il Piccolo Partykjepps] Sunday 8.Apr 11:02, 2018
I’m going for a French dreamday, come on Petit! And also wish me luck in trying to avoid knowing how this race ended before watching it Tuesday evening.

The hardest droppings of I rider I've ever did is this ... drop Gilbert ... my favourite rider thru many years, who i believe is the strongest guy in the field, and obviously in great shape.. :D .... against nature is what it is what it is :D

The Gilbert appearance .... wow .... Quick step just won't give is manager player a break :D .... the " never change a winning team " principle comes to mind, and Gilbert is really looking forward to next week ? .... and Quick step is just messing with the others teams here :D .... well, we'll find out ....

Be careful if the dice gives you 1. Or even 2... :)

Andy [Luxembourg Finest] Saturday 7.Apr 20:52, 2018

Here we have some other tactical alternatives than RVV when approach to manager teams. Harder to find to pick scenarios here for me and also to think through how many Quick Step riders. Thinking about throw dice and see how many riders I should pick from them. Good idea? :D

If Nibali can win MSR... Gilbert can too

Andy [Luxembourg Finest] Friday 6.Apr 14:04, 2018

He planned to race Roubaix last year also. He just wants to get all monuments, don't think he will get that because of MSR, but when you got the 3 others you of course have to try. Will be hard for him this year because long time ago since last try at Roubaix, but never say never with Gilbert.

goon1221 [BMC] Friday 6.Apr 12:55, 2018

I guess he got nothing to prove in the ardennes, and something to prove here :))

Partykjeppen [Il Piccolo Partykjepps] Friday 6.Apr 12:30, 2018
Like Francisco I don't think we've seen PhilGil unleash himself fully so far this season.

Le pavé, mon ami, le pavé...
This year his focus changed a bit, don't you think?.. After all, he's chasing another monument to his fantastic collection...

For Ronde I was expecting alot of similar teams .... and even PR should favor many of the same guys .... but this game I expect alot more difference between our teams .... and if Terpstra seems to have taken over the mp and captain spot from Sagan .... am I right?
And Gilbert ... I'm sure he can do well even here, but I gotta say I find it a little weird seeing him on the start list, as the Ardenne week's coming up ... ?
