Benoot was the strongest rider today and definitely earned that win.

Impressive ride from Valverde considering all of his travel issues and he like always would not use that as an excuse and basically said he made a mistake.

Kwiatkowsky and GvA really unimpressive today. Huge day for Benoot, Van Aerts and Bardet

Tiesj has finally come of age. Anything is possible from now on.

Tomas [Second Coming] Saturday 3.Mar 19:03, 2018
Team selection file updated. Now not counting riders "removed" from the startlist, and also with a tweek displaying those in a more alarming way.

Andy [Luxembourg Finest] Saturday 3.Mar 18:54, 2018
"Tomas - nice addition with the "Your team is complete"-functionality. I would suggest a small tweak as it not showing this until you've added reserves too. It also showed this when Juul Jensen was in my team, though he wasn't on the startlist anymore. In that case I'd ideally like to see it flash "Not complete" instead :) "

Reason for not reserves is because I said it was enough with the 9 riders, the other fix however make more sense for me, that should actually be fixed since we first have this function.

Andy [Luxembourg Finest] Saturday 3.Mar 18:43, 2018
Only DNS or riders removed from start list.

They Kick in only for DNS's

scrooll [Neftohimik Burgas] Saturday 3.Mar 18:40, 2018
Guys, how the reserves are working? For example today I have Nibali as number 7 pick who don't finish the race but I have Stybar as first reserve, will Stybar goes in instead of Nibali or doesn't work like that?

According to Alejandro's wife Natalia, the travel debacle was actually worse than the media had reported. (I'm friends with Natalia's sister). Natalia said they switched them to a flight to Rome that wouldn't get to Rome until after 8pm and then a 6 hour bus ride to the team hotel. Which was not acceptable. She said they ended up flight a late flight to Florence that they had to pay for themselves and didn't get to the hotel until after midnight. But they decided that was a better option than flying to Rome. Anyway, she is pissed.

Hahaha ... muddy

@Goon - Pretty hipster, personally I would've gone Gatto today if I picked from Astana. I think Truls will get a podium in a semi-classic this year, like Gent-Wevelgem or Dwars door Vlaanderen.

Shame Juul Jensen was pulled from the startlist, leaves me without non-starred riders on my team.

Anxious for what it’s expected to be an epic race!!!
This will be so fu***** great.

P.S. I can’t find room to Moscon and i’m suffering big... :D only if I drop Valverde...

Indeed, and Savio is a wise old Fox, i reckon he has a good plan for Kev eventhough this seems weird

Koronin [Koronin] Friday 2.Mar 22:13, 2018
Yeah, that would make a lot more sense for him. But obviously neither you or I are running any of these teams.

Assassin [Troy The Trader] Friday 2.Mar 22:05, 2018

To be honest, I was thinking maybe he'd do GP Industria on Sunday but yea weird one. Certainly going to be a nice welcome back to Europe for Kev

Koronin [Koronin] Friday 2.Mar 22:04, 2018
Good points, maybe I'm putting more on it because flying for me puts my stress levels through the roof (whereas my husband loves flying). No idea why they bringing Rivera there. Seems like this would be equivalent to throwing someone into the deep end and hope you don't kill his confidence.

Assassin [Troy The Trader] Friday 2.Mar 21:55, 2018

It is. But still when you consider a lot of riders struggle from bad sleep in races with nerves, injuries, and (for Thomas Dekker) being in the back of hookers, I think Valverde will be 100% fine and ready to rock. I fear more for young Kev Rivera. Bit mean of Savio to bring him here unless he's about to blow our socks off

Koronin [Koronin] Friday 2.Mar 21:51, 2018
They really screwed this one up. They shouldn't be putting any rider in this type of situation. Star rider or not. It's just ridiculous.

Not surprised with Movistar's management

Koronin [Koronin] Friday 2.Mar 21:34, 2018
True, but this whole thing is a disaster. The worst part is you'd have thought they'd have had him on an earlier flight in case of something getting messed up like this.

Assassin [Troy The Trader] Friday 2.Mar 21:29, 2018

I'm sure he'll be fine. He came back from that nasty injury in the Tour, i'm sure he can survive a bad night's sleep.

Koronin [Koronin] Friday 2.Mar 21:09, 2018
Just in case anyone wants to take this into consideration for their teams for tomorrow. Valverde will not to get to the team hotel until at least midnight tonight due to over book. According to the article they moved him to a flight to Rome and then he'll have to find a way to drive 3 hours from Rome to where the team hotel is for Strade Bianche. Getting him to the hotel sometime around if not after midnight. He'll be lucky if he gets 6 hours of sleep. The even worse part is the airline would not allow other passengers to exchange seats with him which apparently many did. The article is in Spanish.

Well, I've not forgotten how impressive he ride here last year .... punctured when the train went, and got back and ride very well and end up on a respectable 20th place :))

Koronin [Koronin] Thursday 1.Mar 22:53, 2018
Yep, Movistar has made it official that Valverde is going to Strade Bianche.

Tomas [Second Coming] Thursday 1.Mar 21:23, 2018
The proper question should be, "on a scale from 1 to 2, how hipster a pick is Korsæth for this race?" ;)

Andy [Luxembourg Finest] Thursday 1.Mar 21:17, 2018
99 ;)

Francisco [K92-Team Neverland] Thursday 1.Mar 13:30, 2018

It seems Balaverde will be at this race, according to Movistar.
That changes a bit the scenario... :)

Andy [Luxembourg Finest] Wednesday 28.Feb 13:48, 2018
Hoping to beat my average position at the manager so far this year. I see one Luxembourgian flag so maybe 150% on her :D
