Thanks guys, almost four years to win a stage race and i couldn't ask for a better one...
Probably the next one in 2022?! :)
Exactly when i'm making shitty choices race after race in the last two months... :))

Its the main objective for all the portuguese teams... Almost all the riders are in the best shape of the season

Volta has a really high level, and there is a reason why there was so much talk about doping tests this year.

Andy [Luxembourg Finest] Sunday 12.Aug 18:48, 2018
The problem to the Portuguese riders is that Portugal are looked at as a dirty cycling nation, and many teams doesn't want to take the risk of signing them. Alarcon would be at WT team without this

I haven't done the math here ... but 55 p and Brandão ranking seems a little too much for Marque to handle alone ... little too bad climbing yesterday....
But there's a time trail to do here first so ... we'll see how it goes :))

Francisco [K92-Team Neverland] Sunday 12.Aug 10:23, 2018

well, goon, it seems things aren't over yet.. :)
55 points advantage maybe will be enough to Marque's GC unless he finish 9th, wich is possible, i'm affraid..
In the TT, i believe you will get some advantage because of Veloso's better position and the Marque/Nocentini duel...
but, still, there is the Joni factor, both in TT and GC...

P.S. One thing is certain: if my victory depends on Joni taking the yellow, then i prefer to lose this race to you or any other manager than watching Raul Alarcon losing the race to Joni Brandão!!! :D
Let's go Raul, let's go FC Porto!!!

zcoolman performing big this week both in america and europe but regarding Portugal he will not take victory from goon...
yes goon, i think you'll take this. clearly...
Marque will score more than Nocentini and my Brandão advantage is not enough agaisn't that and Veloso's TT, i guess...

goon1221 [BMC] Friday 10.Aug 10:14, 2018
11th FC-manager overall - 11th FC-manager last 6 weeks
Yes Cranksmashers.... Molina can hold you down ... especially if Veloso save a little juice for a stage win and full power on the TT... so we'll see ... but you look GREAT in Utah and even Poland .... so you WILL get a win this weekend :D

Francisco [K92-Team Neverland] Thursday 9.Aug 21:25, 2018

Not anymore goon... :)
It seems the Nocentini and Veloso days are over. Not that they couldn’t today, at least Veloso but he has done a tremendous job for Raul.
Tomorrow in Braga is the last chance to earn some good points with Daniel and Luis but they need to stay close to the gc’s In those two climbs in the city. Nocentini could be a great card but it seems he’s not in the “mood”... :)
The weekend will be good to see with Senhora da Graça and the TT in Fafe.

And they checked everyone yesterday again. 2 days in a row the same 41 riders from 6 teams. Apparently there seem to be issues with their bio-passports and they want to crack down. Let's see what comes of those tests. A lot of effort and investment by the antidoping agency.

sker [Team Paracarri] Sunday 5.Aug 20:39, 2018
Wow what a selective stage. Veloso out of GC is a surprise and also a disappointing Nocentini, heat is really making this hard for older rider I guess.
Next week is going to be slightly better but still really hot, so anybody can crack any minute till the end

Not easy, still a big climb early on, but not as hard as Torre, it is not very steep though, but you never know what is going on in Volta. W52 are unpredictable, even though you know they gonna win overall

Stage 4 (tomorrow) was changed. The riders wont pass in Alto da Torre (especial category climb) and the climb will be replaced by the climb to Penhas Douradas. Instead of 171.4km it will be a 144km stage.

At the end of today's stage the organization will explain this decision.

This decision was published in "volta a Portugal" facebook page less thanks 1h ago.

Riding with this heat is dangerous I think, even if we are talking about professional riders who know how to deal with dehidratation and to cool the body temperature as much as possible.

Francisco, will you be able to provide a link to your national race, beautiful Portuguese scenery, and most important of all that funky music again? :)

Yes Andy and the region of Burgos invested a lot of money, both in the team and in the Vuelta a Burgos.

Burgos can´t miss the Vuelta, a lot money involved.

Don't forget David Belda either. That's 3 cases within 18 months, think the team should face suspension from UCI if the rules are the same as earlier. Maybe 30 days, and the crucial here is if that is before or after Vuelta.

The problem with the burgos is that they have had two cases within a span of days, Ibai Salas ang Igor Merino.~

Burgos is at risk of being suspended by the UCI

> The organization withdrew the invitation to Burgos.

Pff, but Louletano was not withdrawn. Double standard.

The court cleared both because they didn't have the chance to argue their side before getting sanctioned.

De Mateos and Ibai Salas (Burgos-BH) were suspended preventively.
But Spanish TAD lifted that suspension.

The organization withdrew the invitation to Burgos.

He was suspended for his bio-passport a few weeks ago, but provisional suspension is lifted now, not sure why though.

One tip: not sure about De Mateos presence. Some problems, don’t know exactly what. Reserves can help..

When is the dead line? Today or tomorrow?
