A 5th place is nomaly something i would be satisfide with, but when i lead the game for several days, it's just sad :D ..... then again, I was pretty awear i wouldn't win this game when Mas was so strong here .... and I picked wrong caja rural guy ..... satisfide with picking Moreno as best Movistar .... that was far from obvious :)))

Koronin [Koronin] Friday 4.Aug 21:20, 2017
sker, Movistar is lost without Valverde. Barbero is the only one who seems to be able to hold the team together at all right now. This is just proof of who runs that team. They have again fallen apart without with him.

Remember Alaphilippe is coming back from a knee injury that has sidelined him since February.

And Alaphilippe is clearely not in shape at all ..... he would have won a finish like this easy if he had 80% in .... this looks more like 60%

Yaks ... it's no fun being nr 1 in a game when you know top 3 is max in the end .... only one way to go, and thats down .... Movistar looks like a winner here .... without looking at too many teams downahead. ...

sker [Team Paracarri] Thursday 3.Aug 20:57, 2017
Impressed by Moscon today, reducing the peloton to 6 rider even in this field is huge for him.
Movistar looks really bad overall, even for the Vuelta: nobody looks in decent form really

sker [Team Paracarri] Wednesday 2.Aug 19:51, 2017
My sprint picks Trentin and Blythe did their job today, and I hope they can repeat on stage 4. Barbero is not really a sprinter, he needs a hilly finish so yesterday was his big chance.
Don't know if my manager can recover the debacle of Soler though, we will see tomorrow how the GC starts to shape behind Landa

johnjackjoe [JohnJackJoe Racing] Wednesday 2.Aug 16:42, 2017
Ok, today Barbero cocked up :D

Haha - turns out this is merely a bump of triple-Tora. I'll leave for extra expediency! #TooMuchCrossword

Something is off, on the stage screen the riders on my manager team are displayed merely with descedning numerals relative to their stage placings rather than their place/weighting on the manager team #BlameTheSlovaks

In both Burgos and Poland, my riders are being shown in green as normal. But the numbers next to them are showing them in my finishing order rather than the normal way ie the way I selected prior to the race start.

Weening pulled the peloton to catch break on his own for a long time. No surprise

Aragonite [TORA TORA TORA] Tuesday 1.Aug 18:52, 2017
4th FC-manager overall - 17th FC-manager last 6 weeks
Soler was in the early break. Wouldn't be surprised if Weening purposely lost time, and we see him in a break on one of the high mountain stages.

Bst222 [Bst222] Tuesday 1.Aug 18:45, 2017
What happened to Soler and Weening?

Nice play Goon. Wish I had.

Actually, i droped him for Moreno as the movistar gc guy and Barbero for todays stage .... I knew it was a gamble, but what the hell, a little luck doesn't hurt :)))

12min16sec Soler loses on a relatively easy stage. Everyone has him, apart from those who have entered for stage wins, most picked rider.

Assassin [TheTrueAssassins] Tuesday 1.Aug 17:31, 2017
5th FC-manager overall - 24th FC-manager last 6 weeks
But then with Movi these days, it could just be a stupid move but who knows

Assassin [TheTrueAssassins] Tuesday 1.Aug 17:31, 2017
5th FC-manager overall - 24th FC-manager last 6 weeks
Was thinking it is possible he could be ill i suppose.

johnjackjoe [JohnJackJoe Racing] Tuesday 1.Aug 17:28, 2017
Well Soler went into the break and lost contact after 80km and couldn't stay in the peloton. I'd say Soler isn't at 100%, otherwise neither makes sense.

Assassin [TheTrueAssassins] Tuesday 1.Aug 17:19, 2017
5th FC-manager overall - 24th FC-manager last 6 weeks
Another Movi screw up.... well moreno and fernandez are still within touch at least

johnjackjoe [JohnJackJoe Racing] Tuesday 1.Aug 17:19, 2017
Soler went into the break. I gues Movistar doen't want him to go into the Vuelta with any pressue and race for Dani Moreno/Ruben Fernandez at Burgos. Sucks for us 92 :D

goon1221 [BMC] Tuesday 1.Aug 17:18, 2017
19th FC-manager overall - 16th FC-manager last 6 weeks
Top pick Marc Soler + 12 minutes

Assassin [TheTrueAssassins] Tuesday 1.Aug 17:13, 2017

only up to 24th place were at 7 secs

Assassin [TheTrueAssassins] Tuesday 1.Aug 17:12, 2017

There were splits in peloton

johnjackjoe [JohnJackJoe Racing] Tuesday 1.Aug 17:08, 2017
I would agree with that. He usually has one big injury per year. Not this year yet, so I'm awaiting it any moment now. And at flat sprints he's just not good enough to compete. So if the finish goes up he's pretty reliable if he get's delivered. Sadly not a rider to follow the Landa attack for instance.

Overall he seems to achieve less than he should, but I just think there isn't enough races for a rider type like him. The Ardennes and similar are to difficult and he's not fast enough for flat stages.

So I hope he can make a quality jump with Movistar and compete at WT level races in the next 2 years, or else he will be a favourite at .1&.2 races and win a .HC stage here and there for the rest of his career

LosBrolin [JuhaMieto] Tuesday 1.Aug 16:57, 2017
2nd FC-manager overall - 15th FC-manager last 6 weeks
True, it wasn't, but considering the amount of times he has been favorite to win a stage here he has pretty poor palmares.

johnjackjoe [JohnJackJoe Racing] Tuesday 1.Aug 16:45, 2017
I wonder if there were any splits in the main bunch.

johnjackjoe [JohnJackJoe Racing] Tuesday 1.Aug 16:42, 2017
This wasn't Barbero's mistake. I'm sure the DS thought that they would catch anything on the last lap, but they failed.

LosBrolin [JuhaMieto] Tuesday 1.Aug 16:40, 2017
2nd FC-manager overall - 15th FC-manager last 6 weeks
He's making it a habit to fuck up things over here. This is his home race and he has one stage win - always something wrong.

BartVelo [BartVelo] Tuesday 1.Aug 16:40, 2017
18th FC-manager overall
How many sigars did the commentator have in his mouth? :P

johnjackjoe [JohnJackJoe Racing] Tuesday 1.Aug 16:39, 2017
Movistar messed up. Barbero didn't even open his sprint as the win was gone. If the field would have entered the last kilometer together I have no doubt Barbero would have finished on his home-town climb.

goon1221 [BMC] Tuesday 1.Aug 16:38, 2017

Alaphilippe on 3rd .... seems to be some left to be in great shape yet

Soler was in the 13-man breakaway for 80km. The breakaway split and now 8 are ahead. Soler seems to have dropped back.

At least Bike haven't thrown Matt Rendell on coms again. I think my 2 attempts at coms on CyclingHub were better than his :)

They had a link to a live feed on youtube on their website but it appears to be down. There is a ticker here http://www.vueltaburgos.com/es/peliculas-de-la-etapa/ . i have it on Bike Channel but don't think that's an option unless ur in GB.

Official start list added. No big changes thankfully.

johnjackjoe [JohnJackJoe Racing] Monday 31.Jul 14:37, 2017
No problem, I jwas just setting my team this morning and realised that he was on and had a star. So there must have been a few who hadn't realised it. Hope everybody who chose him can switch him out by tomorrow.

Thanks JJJ - I usually don't punch the most obvious errors from provisional startlists, but with all the racing at the moment some of these slip through (((c:=

Luis Leon Sanchez is a star rider, but not starting in Burgos. He's in Poland.
