On another form several people said Kelderman is still stuff some effects from a previous crash.

Who knows what Landa was doing today. He's not a good TTer, but that was more like he didn't try.

I didn't realize Fuglsang was that good at TTs.

Quintana and Landa both really need to improve their TTing.

What date is your birthday Partykjeppen?

Belated happy Bulmer's-day to Andyman. Not sure whether I appreciate the fact that your spiritual age still is three months younger than I am.

Tomas [Second Coming] Wednesday 13.Jun 12:13, 2018
Happy b-day on overtime to Andyman :) (made a note of the date)

Years ticking by Andy? How old are you now? Before you know it you will be celebrating your sixtieth birthday. :)

But Ireland got Dan Martin, so fair trade that :)

Just read a bit about him. I knew he spent some time in Ireland, didn't realise he lived there until the age of sixteen. In my eyes that makes him Irish, not Danish. :)

Andy [Luxembourg Finest] Tuesday 12.Jun 17:48, 2018
Hasn't he lived in Ireland?

Koronin [Koronin] Saturday 9.Jun 20:23, 2018
I went with a BMC rider, just not the one in the leaders jersey. Oh well. I did figure they'd win the TTT.

Astana and Fuglsang 1.18 behind Porte already.... what the hell happened ?

I also was in and out with GVA... but two things kept him out ... Sagan and Matthews, and only one thing to keep him.. Leaders jersey for some days ... so I went for on form Albasini on home ground in stead...

I should of guessed that BMW were going to let Kung take the leaders jersey in his home tour. Can see him keeping it for the next four/five days, looks pretty nailed to take the last stage, and who knows if he doesn't lose too much time on the seventh stage we could have a surprise winner. #missedatrick

Tomas [Second Coming] Saturday 9.Jun 18:13, 2018
I thought I was cool and hip getting Greg van Avermat into the mix - that was until I saw the overall leader [GeraintTooFast] having him @125.

Not too different from my approach Andy. I've only gone for two definite GC options, plus a couple who could be involved. Mainly strong sprinter/puncheur, would seem we are in the minority though. I'll see your Gorka Izagirre, and raise you a Jose Goncalves. :)

goon1221 [BMC] Saturday 9.Jun 16:27, 2018

A link guys ?

Andy [Luxembourg Finest] Saturday 9.Jun 16:09, 2018
Aupa Gorka!

Tried a different strategy here since parcours is so easy. No real tough stages, so TTT and ITT more decisive than "climbing" stages. Kelderman and Porte looks like best GC options and behind them it is not easy to find any. Ion Izagirre not been that good in TT after moved to Bahrain so tried his brother who also can sprint decent at uphill sprints. Gaviria maybe too high at 125, but nice to try something else than I did in Dauphine with no sprinters.

Too much speaking against both of them ... if i pick one, it would be Landa maybe ... I don't know ... so i drop both ..... hopefully my classic tactics can compensate :D

Andy [Luxembourg Finest] Saturday 9.Jun 15:03, 2018
I agree, not for the same reason though.

Tomas [Second Coming] Saturday 9.Jun 14:35, 2018
I think I'll go with zero Movistar riders in this one. Can't decide, and dont feel I got room for two..

Andy [Luxembourg Finest] Thursday 7.Jun 22:30, 2018
Suisse got their best chance to have the Tour winner since 2011 when they should have got it. But gonna be hard with neither Nibs or Froomie. So Lance in 2001 will still be their last Tour winner who raced Suisse as pre-race. Think actually all since that has raced Dauphine.

Koronin [Koronin] Tuesday 5.Jun 23:25, 2018
I agree with that. Rumors are that very well may happen at the end of the year.

Partykjeppen [Il Piccolo Partykjepps] Tuesday 5.Jun 22:54, 2018
Yeah - unless he smashes it in the Tour, this looks like a pretty fitting time for both Nairo and Movistar to cut their ties.

Koronin [Koronin] Tuesday 5.Jun 22:48, 2018
Oh I think Movistar's hope is that Soler will be the future leader of the team. Currently Valverde is still the the team leader there. I do agree that they really need to start putting Soler with Valverde so he can learn. Although interestingly enough during the Ardennes, Landa said that as far as he was concerned Valverde is not allowed to retire anytime soon because he still has a lot to learn from Valverde. Found those comments interesting from someone who wants to be the leader.

As for the infighting, removing Valverde from Suisse doesn't change the fact that there are much bigger issues between Landa and Quintana than either one of them have with Valverde. Esp Landa who at the Ardennes proved he's more than willing to work for Valverde, whereas at Catalonia Quintana showed he wasn't happy that he was working for Valverde although did so after the team told him he was working for Valverde.

And Landa the feminist doesn't approve of podium girls. Booooooooooooooo

Partykjeppen [Il Piccolo Partykjepps] Tuesday 5.Jun 22:37, 2018
Unzue needs to breed Soler as the long-term captain of Movistar by having him learn from Valverde as soon as possible. The rest of 2018/early 2019 should be used to assess whether it's Nairo or Landa who will be main leader of the team until Soler is a credible podium-contender in the Tour.

The non-attacking of the 2016-Tour plus Giro/Tour-debacle of 2017 took a lot of the shine of Nairo's achievements, I'm hoping a singular-Tour-peak will mean a totally different rider.

Landa I'm not completely sold on, never performed properly as a team leader and seemingly prone to whining, although his riding style is an entertaining one.

Easy solution, ride for Soler and tell the other 2 to quit their petty bs

Partykjeppen [Il Piccolo Partykjepps] Tuesday 5.Jun 22:27, 2018
Nice of them to save the comedy in-fighting to the Tour instead :)

Koronin [Koronin] Tuesday 5.Jun 22:21, 2018
Just an update. Movistar released their lineup Valverde is NOT going to this one. He's headed to Tour de Sud or whatever the new name is. He said it's because he's got a minor cold that won't go away. However he's definitely not going to Suisse.

That happens when the Tour starts a week later. The time between Dauphine and Tour is not optimal for preperation.

Partykjeppen [Il Piccolo Partykjepps] Tuesday 5.Jun 12:53, 2018
Way higher class on this startlist than Dauphiné this year.
