Between yesterdays mountain stage and today's time trial many thought there would be decent time gaps. Yet it is 1 second that separates Valverde and Contador. The last two stages are for the sprinters, plus no time bonuses.
Koronin [Koronin] Friday 17.Feb 05:33, 2017
LOL, he claimed that yesterday when he won the stage. He's always been good at those type of comments though. Plus his comment after he signed his new contract comes to mind though. I do not remember what he was asked, but his response was he he has nothing left to prove to anyone. He keeps racing because he loves and it's fun. Then he said something about adding to his palmares and trying to win some races he hasn't won yet, specifically Amstel Gold, Lombardia and the Worlds, then was talking about chasing history at the Ardennes and la Vuelta.

Remember Valverde is not a pure climber like the rest of the GC guys are. All the other GC riders are pure climbers. Valverde is a classics specialist that just happens to be a good climber. Some of that is because he actually enjoys climbing. Now he did make an interesting comment after yesterday's stage where he said he and the team didn't come here for GC they came here to win a stage. It looks like tomorrow will be a deciding ITT when people thought today's stage would be that.

But he scored 91 FC points this season so far and he has wage of 1 in season fantasy... Last season when I and Tomas he had him (in different parts of the season of course) for wage about 15 he scored 122 FC points during the whole season.
Last year in Eurometropole race I didn’t choose Capiot... He finnished fourth... Some of my sprinters (Holst Enger and Dupont were DNF)...
Same in Algarve this year... I had doubt between Cav and Greipel... Guess.. My pick was Cav... He was nowhere to seen in the stage 1...
boris03 [Cycling lions] Thursday 16.Feb 18:49, 2017
Amaury Capiot DNF! WTF is with that guy? He was good in Almeria and I thought he will be in top 5 on both sprint stages... But he abandoned... Whole peloton finished but only he and Pardilla abandoned...
Why those things happen always to me? (for example Pelucchi last season in SF... )

HA Logreid :D .... yeah i thought so :D ... No i'm kidding .... still, in case someone took the headline of the post for "good fish " ( norwegian expresion, i'm sure the foreighn can understand what it means ) Hope it helped at least one player :)))

As you know, goon, I'm merely obfuscating to increase my chances of decent result,
Can't decide between Pinot and Oomen - the former is a no-brainer given decent form but was sick during Valenciana whilst the latter has a designated team leader, but is able to pull off good results on parcours like this. No youth shirt last year, though.
goon1221 [BMC] Tuesday 14.Feb 22:17, 2017
So, Ion Izaguirre is starting as the lists sais around and not like the creature of this tread claims :))) so all of us that reasonable have him on our teams, can keep him there :)))
Assassin [TheTrueAssassins] Tuesday 14.Feb 21:24, 2017
My point is, if you know what day it is and where the race is in the world, you can have a good idea of when it's going to be. These things aren't difficult to find either, most race websites/programmes have start time of 1st stage.
goon1221 [BMC] Tuesday 14.Feb 09:40, 2017
Sure Boris, and in Algarve the sprinters can shine from the start .... No problem to see why the sprinters choose like they do .... but this was wierdly inconspicuous :D i had to bring it up :)))
boris03 [Cycling lions] Tuesday 14.Feb 06:59, 2017
Sprint stages in Algarve have less techical finales than ones in Andalucia... And Algarve has lighter route where sprinters can more relax between sprint stages...
So if I’m sprinter my obvious choose would be Algarve becauss it has the easiest route and the most beautiful sprints...
Koronin [Koronin] Tuesday 14.Feb 05:33, 2017
LOL, no kidding about the sprinters all going to Algrave and almost none going to Andalucía. At this race Valverde could win a field sprint if he decides to get involved one.
goon1221 [BMC] Monday 13.Feb 23:34, 2017
Yeah ... they could Split up the sprint field in Algarve and give Coquard a LITTLE BIT of competition in Andalucia :D talk about uneven distribution of sprinters :D i mean, there are two sprints in both races ....

Hi Jspear. When sources differ and I can't any more info on the race homepage or team homepage, I usually go with CyclingFever's version.
This is corroborated by the race's homepage and a few other sources, though no statement has been made by Bahrain - Merida on their final selection or whether/why Ion is sitting this one out. Perhaps he's changing his ear piercings.
I'll keep a keen eye out for finalized news on this.
Logreid [JohnGadretPartykjepp] Monday 13.Feb 00:48, 2017
Startlist updated, Ion Izaguirre out as far as star-marked riders go.
There are still some discrepancies with Oman/Algarve/Andalucia with riders being moved between these races, so I'd advise managers to check in right up to the deadline to make sure their selections are valid.
