Kiri gets the combativity. I vote we keep the combativity award, and up the points to 100 for winning it. :)

Aragonite [TORA TORA TORA] Saturday 8.Sep 23:48, 2018

Sunday's stage is like a race around the Monopoly board. :)

Aragonite [TORA TORA TORA] Saturday 8.Sep 20:27, 2018

Ian Stannard is a beast.

But there were two. I thought Conor Swift did more turns on the front, and longer turns than James Shaw too. Just another vagary of the combativity.

Andy [Luxembourg Finest] Friday 7.Sep 18:38, 2018
Was easy for the organizers to just give the combativity award to a British rider in the break today :)

Aragonite [TORA TORA TORA] Friday 7.Sep 16:34, 2018

All in all another cracking days racing.

Andy [Luxembourg Finest] Friday 7.Sep 16:30, 2018
Easy to sacrifice himself when he know that brings the GC win to the team and maybe he owes some favors to Alaphilippe still from Liege :)

Bob sacrificed himself Andy.

Looks like Hivert fancies this stage.

Aragonite [TORA TORA TORA] Friday 7.Sep 16:02, 2018

Jumbo would happily let these four stay away and take all the bonus seconds.

Andy [Luxembourg Finest] Friday 7.Sep 15:32, 2018
And Alaphilippe took bonus sprint early on so gap only 3 sec now, just a stage win then and he leads overall

Aragonite [TORA TORA TORA] Friday 7.Sep 13:30, 2018

Very useful four riders in todays break.

Considerable difference in the breakaways though. In those in the UK invariably if the break does make it, it will involve an exciting chase down from the peloton, and the winner getting home seconds in front of it. These types of break winners are very exciting imo. Not so the breaks that are given ten minutes plus lead, where the peloton doesn't bother trying to catch them at all, leaving in effect two races. One full of what quite often ends up making a sub standard GT stage winner, the other the GC contenders who may or may not choose to race one another. These are dull, again imo.

Partykjeppen [Il Piccolo Partykjepps] Thursday 6.Sep 19:15, 2018
Both ToB and Yorkshire are always more breakaway-friendly than what you’d think from the profiles, with their narrow, twisty roads constantly undulating. Been pretty good action in the latter 50 ks on the stages until now.

Aragonite [TORA TORA TORA] Thursday 6.Sep 19:05, 2018

I have Bob first reserve, and Greipel second. Could of been looking at back to back home tour wins. If only...……….

Andy [Luxembourg Finest] Thursday 6.Sep 17:27, 2018
I agree only because of Bob in nice position ;)

Aragonite [TORA TORA TORA] Thursday 6.Sep 17:25, 2018

Augurs well for the next two stages of racing. Stage 7 down as one for the sprinters, but with it's parcours and if the leaderboard is still a close it could be another day for the GC boys. Looking forward to it. A better watch than the Vuelta with all its breakaway winners, imo. But I could be a little bit biased. :)

goon1221 [BMC] Thursday 6.Sep 16:35, 2018

But in my defence . .. I called Roglic as favourite when Jumbo had 1 km togo :D

goon1221 [BMC] Thursday 6.Sep 16:32, 2018
9th FC-manager overall - 10th FC-manager last 6 weeks
6 seconds only ... okey, I was a little fast with my Roglic favoritism :D .... Alaphilippe still the one to beat

LosBrolin [JuhaMieto] Thursday 6.Sep 15:23, 2018

Should be fun.

Roglic vs QS coming 2 days the duel now

Jumbo won this.

good ride by Lotto NL. They're doing great everywhere

Doesn't matter what BMC is doing now...

goon1221 [BMC] Thursday 6.Sep 15:15, 2018

Roglic favourite now

Andy [Luxembourg Finest] Thursday 6.Sep 15:11, 2018
I was expecting time of Sky to be beaten, but not by Katusha. Politt must be better now after he has had some issues earlier this week with very poor performances

Aragonite [TORA TORA TORA] Thursday 6.Sep 15:10, 2018

BMC going to rip this up. Bevin to stay in green.

I have a cousin who lives in Cockermouth. Last time the town was in the news was during a massive flood in 2009. The whole town centre was destroyed when submerged by up to two and a half metres of flood water, when the rivers Cocker and Derwent burst their banks. Nice to see the place back to normal.

TTT on stage 4 ... yes ... that's right ... it won't increase the chances of unfortunat circumstances at all :D

Aragonite [TORA TORA TORA] Wednesday 5.Sep 17:27, 2018

Correct about the finish. Seems Greipel was the thief. Where were Gaviria, and Ewan?

Have faith in your neighbours Assassin. :)

Assassin [Troy The Trader] Tuesday 4.Sep 22:17, 2018

Up in my neck of the woods tomorrow although the stage is not going through where I live. Can't see it being anything other than a sprint unless someone feels brave and goes long. Would be most concerned about bikes being stolen in Nuneaton at the start. Nuneaton falls into the category of a proper shithole :D

goon1221 [BMC] Tuesday 4.Sep 15:55, 2018

Modolo and Ewan in the group ... i guess that last crimb took the edge :D

goon1221 [BMC] Tuesday 4.Sep 15:33, 2018

Alaphilippe 59th for QS.... Viviani 60 ?

Aragonite [TORA TORA TORA] Monday 3.Sep 23:40, 2018
5th FC-manager overall - 8th FC-manager last 6 weeks
GC Betting :- 5/4 Alaphilippe 5/2 Poels 11/4 Bevin 9/1 Jungels 12/1 Meyer 16/1 Roglic

Andy [Luxembourg Finest] Monday 3.Sep 22:45, 2018
They can compete vs Vaughters for being that :D

sker [Team Paracarri] Monday 3.Sep 22:44, 2018
28th FC-manager last 6 weeks
Yes Andy I agree with you, I was keeping it wide to include longshots. I wasn't expecting such a selective stage that could pretty much exclude anybody who wasn't in the front group (the guys in the second group already need a miracle).
Would want to root for Tonelli but Bardiani TTT is one of the worse in pro cycling :D

Andy [Luxembourg Finest] Monday 3.Sep 20:14, 2018
Because he is Dutch ;) In reality because I forgot him..

Aragonite [TORA TORA TORA] Monday 3.Sep 19:24, 2018
5th FC-manager overall - 8th FC-manager last 6 weeks
Why no Sky? Poels hot favourite for me.

Andy [Luxembourg Finest] Monday 3.Sep 19:20, 2018
No way Carthy wins with a TTT on the program, and Tejay can be high in GC after that, but will some way find a way to lose minutes later. For me it is between Jungels, Alaphilippe, Bevin and Roglic now, and have to say I will be surprised if Quick Step doesn't win now

Aragonite [TORA TORA TORA] Monday 3.Sep 19:15, 2018
5th FC-manager overall - 8th FC-manager last 6 weeks
Probably can add Teejay to that list.

sker [Team Paracarri] Monday 3.Sep 18:17, 2018

Thomas and Froome officially here to train, Poels is the captain for Sky (got that right for once).
Bevin is the guy for BMC so no Kung, Meyer might have a shot for Mitchelton, the duo Alaphilippe and Jungels for Quickstep, Carthy for EF, Sutterlin for Movistar and of course Roglic for Lotto NL.
These are pretty much the rider that can win GC

Aragonite [TORA TORA TORA] Monday 3.Sep 16:38, 2018

Cracking stage 2. Enjoyed that. Can't beat 'the green, green, grass of home'. :)

goon1221 [BMC] Sunday 2.Sep 16:20, 2018

I guess Gavirias knee is coming better :D

Andy [Luxembourg Finest] Sunday 2.Sep 16:10, 2018
Jungels look good so far goon :)

Aragonite [TORA TORA TORA] Sunday 2.Sep 13:58, 2018

I used to live in the south west Partykjeppen. Gods own country. :) Two gorge's on stage 3, first at Cheddar(yes loads of cheese for sale, and Andy lots of cider :), then the Avon gorge on the run in to a finish on Bristol Downs(one of the nicest areas of one of the UK's finest cities imo).
Its a real shame they don't go further south west into the counties of Devon and Cornwall. Its an area begging for a little stage race of its own. Loads of minor roads, and differing scenery. If you want a holiday in the UK and don't fancy London, these two counties are where to head for.
End of English Tourist report. :)

Aragonite [TORA TORA TORA] Sunday 2.Sep 13:34, 2018
5th FC-manager overall - 8th FC-manager last 6 weeks
Think Sky will take so much time in the TTT from the rest, that only Sky win this. Unless Alaphilippe, or Roglic ride a stellar race on the Queen stage.

Partykjeppen [Il Piccolo Partykjepps] Sunday 2.Sep 13:16, 2018
If it was an ITT I’d be tempted by him, Keukeleire and Powless. Took a punt at Jelle instead, which usually is futile in the fall.

Aragonite [TORA TORA TORA] Sunday 2.Sep 13:11, 2018
5th FC-manager overall - 8th FC-manager last 6 weeks
I only gamble on GT's nowadays. But boy was I tempted by Kiriyenka at 200/1 e/w for the GC. I realise Poels will have the main backing of Sky, but with G and Froome there mainly to wave at the crowd, I could see Kiri maybe making the podium and if he were to escape on one of the hilly stages, who knows. The parcours suit him perfectly, and he looked in good nick in Germany.

Partykjeppen [Il Piccolo Partykjepps] Sunday 2.Sep 10:21, 2018
Albanaesen's ascent to greatness restarts here!

Partykjeppen [Il Piccolo Partykjepps] Sunday 2.Sep 10:14, 2018
Aragonite - apart from the obvious gag ( ;) ), I have to say I find Cheddar Gorge a tasty prospect!

goon1221 [BMC] Sunday 2.Sep 10:07, 2018
9th FC-manager overall - 10th FC-manager last 6 weeks
I think so ... considering Gavirias knee problems ... and Jungles a little too diesel for this, we're down to two guys :D

Koronin [Koronin] Sunday 2.Sep 05:55, 2018
Is it actually possible to not have 3 QS riders on this team?

Startlist Final

Aragonite [TORA TORA TORA] Saturday 1.Sep 15:51, 2018
5th FC-manager overall - 8th FC-manager last 6 weeks
Ok have your schoolboy lols now. Yes stage 5 the TTT does start in Cockermouth. :)

Andy [Luxembourg Finest] Friday 31.Aug 14:13, 2018
How to make a team without 3 or 4 from QS here?

Partykjeppen [Il Piccolo Partykjepps] Friday 31.Aug 11:16, 2018
Dimension Data and Quick-Step added to the startlist - especially the latter should make a difference for teams already entered.
